We work with some of the biggest household names and our seaside studio is a one-stop-shop for all things motion-graphics related. We have access to everything we need making the process as straight forward as possible.
We kick things off by discussing your specific brief and project requirements. We like to find out as much as we can about your audience and objectives so we can get the tone and message of the animation perfectly aligned with the brand. We can work with a fully formed script and concept or our specialised team can work with you to tailor a creative idea and script to perfectly suit your brief.
With the script agreed we move onto concept designs. At this stage it’s always great to be provided with visual references if you have clear idea of what you’re looking for in terms of style direction. Our team of illustrators will take this all on board before developing a tailored visual style crafted from your brief. We don’t work with templates as we believe every project should be bespoke.
Depending on the project, we will create one or more key style frames showing how we envisage the animation, allowing you the opportunity to provide feedback.
Next up, a storyboard is created to give us a rough visual representation of the script. This will illustrate in sequence: shot choices, general movements and/or performance within the frame and any script notes.
A well-defined storyboard ensures all parties can visualise, discuss and agree on key shots and scenes. Animation can be a time consuming process so it’s important to review the storyboard carefully and ensure everyone is on the same page before starting production.
Having a voice over recorded before we begin animating is vital as it allows our team to sync visuals with the audio. So once the script and storyboard have been signed off we can discuss the tone and feel of the voice over.
Before we start animating, our design team will need to create all the final visual assets. This process in involves adapting every element shown within the storyboard i.e. characters, icons, backgrounds etc. turning them into hi-res digital designs.
For character animation, this will likely require creating a range of assets that show the characters head, body and limbs in a number of positions, allowing us to create the illusion of movement within the film.
And here we are – once all of the above stages are signed off it’s time for our animators to bring the film to life. We’re passionate about animation and our team of award winning animators are dedicated to making entertaining, quality storytelling.
With the animation complete we will provide a first cut for you to review. After this has been signed off, we can then discuss music and potential sound effects if needed. At this stage we can also add any agreed titles, subtitles/translations, additional cut-down films for social.
And that’s it, once we have final sign-off we will render and supply you with the final hi-res file ready for the whole world to enjoy. The file format can either be dictated by you to best suit your desired broadcast format or left in our hands to decide on the optimum solution.
